Doha, Qatar; May 2024: As an iSP school, The Hamilton International School provides students with opportunities for learning that extend beyond the classroom.
Our students recently took part in an engaging webinar that highlighted the work that Street Child United (SCU) does for street connected children worldwide. SCU is iSP’s global charity partner and is dedicated to empowering and advocating for street-connected children worldwide.
During the webinar our children experienced an interactive session, where they delved into the heart of the organization’s mission.
Lizaan Jacobs, a Grade 4 Intervention teacher and our school’s SCU coordinator shared this about the experience our students had during the webinar.
“From sharing impactful stories of resilience to discussing innovative strategies for awareness and advocacy, the webinar served as a catalyst for a new generation of compassionate changemakers, united in their commitment to uplift the most vulnerable among us.
The International Learning Opportunities (ILOS) – available for any student in the ISP network- create a platform for students to learn, explore and embrace what it means to be a global citizen and how to connect with other like-minded individuals. It also builds life-long skills and competencies, while students can pursue their passions.
A few of our students chose to write an essay to reflect on their experience during the ILOS with Street Child United. They have truly been impacted and they look forward to being a part of similar learning opportunities again in the future.”
