Farhiya grew up and studied in the United Kingdom before moving to Qatar in 2018.
She graduated from the City University of London with a BSc in Speech and Language Therapy and from the University of Birmingham with a Postgraduate Certificate in Special Educational Needs and Autism.
She has had the opportunity to work with children that require support with speech, language, and communication. This was an excellent opportunity for her to adopt interventions and evidence-based practice to witness a significant improvement in the communication abilities of her students.
Farhiya is enthusiastic about working with students on the autistic spectrum. She recognizes that students on the autistic spectrum differ based on their intellectual capacity, the degree of their autism, personality, gender, culture, and other characteristics.
She is deeply committed to ensuring that every child can communicate. As a result, Farhiya has been able to train parents, teachers, and TAs in the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication techniques. She is inspired by the idea that everyone, whether verbal or nonverbal, should have a means of communication.
Farhiya aims to inspire your child to develop a love of learning and to pursue their interests, improving their quality of life.
Farhiya enjoys long walks and treks in her spare time, as well as traveling, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.
