Hafsa is a diligent teacher with a love for learning and is from Birmingham in
the UK. Her love for teaching began whilst working on an international
development programme in Peru, and she hasn’t looked back since. She
returned to study at university in Manchester, and when she moved back to
Birmingham, she worked as a teaching assistant. The school recognised her
potential to teach and encouraged her to complete her teacher training,
which she thoroughly enjoyed. She is particularly passionate about teaching
reading and supporting second language English learners, inspiring her
student to embrace their own love for reading.
Hafsa worked as a Graduate Examiner for SAT Reading papers: this training
contributed to her development substantially as it enabled her to better
understand reading pedagogy and exam processes, which furthered her
ability to supported children with higher order thinking. Hafsa embraces
purposeful teaching; encouraging children to discover which learning style
they are suited to so that they can continue to support themselves on their
learning journeys. Being inquisitive by nature, Hafsa is continuously
researching human behaviours.
Three years ago, Hafsa moved to Qatar with her husband, to raise their two
sons and support the family with an international move, and she has been
enjoying living in the desert, and near the sea.
In her spare time, Hafsa enjoys crocheting, reading, spotting birds, cooking
and eating good food with her family.
