William grew up in rural Wales before earning a BA and MA in politics and history. Following this he spent
time in France working with young children where his passion for teaching was ignited. Upon returning to the
UK, he relocated to London and completed his teacher training at University College London through the
Teach First programme.
After several successful years teaching in London, William moved to the Bahamas to lead the History
Department at an international school, before finally moving to Qatar. He is deeply committed to ensuring
every student in his class succeeds, striving to make the humanities engaging and relevant by fostering
critical thinking and connecting topics to contemporary issues. Whether organising Anglo–Saxon shield wall
simulations in the playground or prompting discussions on the extent to which recent events are mirroring
historical patterns, William enjoys making learning interactive and thought–provoking.
Outside of teaching, William is an avid reader and traveller. He is passionate about volunteering, with
experiences ranging from animal shelters to charity work in Ghana, where he helped provide free teacher
training in low–income communities. He enjoys staying active through hiking, running, football, rugby, and
tennis. William’s diverse interests and experiences reflect his dynamic and holistic approach to education.
