At The Hamilton International School, well-being and the overall health of our community is our priority. We understand the importance of informative sessions for early detection of breast cancer, so during Breast Cancer awareness month we wanted to share this important information with our community. We were honored to host Dr. Dina Shalaby from Westbay Medicare, who conducted an interactive workshop on breast cancer for our parents and staff. We were delighted to provide this invaluable opportunity to our parents, empowering them with knowledge that can potentially be life-saving.
In addition to this, our staff and students joined forces to support this cause by wearing pink while spreading powerful messages about the significance of early detection throughout the entire school community.
“I have lost many family members to cancer, and hence I chose to attend this session. The day started with such a positive vibe from all the moms who came dressed in pink, at the door we were greeted and welcomed in with a beautiful pink rose to commemorate the day. We had a great session held by Westbay Medicare. It was so informative and interactive too. The Doctor that conducted the session went over what is breast cancer, types of tumors, different types of cancer, self-diagnosis, and myths. I’m sure every mother that attended the session left there much more knowledgeable, they explained to us all about their latest technology being used at the center. It ended with a lucky draw and we were all given vouchers to use. Overall, it was an enlightening and informative session.” – Mrs. Papa – Parent.
